Most or all will.
I only had 1 peice of software not work, my old firewall.
Usually if the software is not security related, it will work.
You can download a check of all you current installed software from microsoft, it will tell you if some software you have has kown compatibility problems

depends on which programs you have, not all programs work on vista but some of them do, you have to wait a couple of months untill all the programs are vista compatible. Good Luck

hopefully. Most of the programs work with Vista. However, you need to check with software manufacturer about this. You can email me a list of programs and i can do that for you.

You still have options to purchase with XP - still lots of unsold computers out there with XP. I wouldn't buy one with Vista on it until it was the 2nd edition. Lots of problems with them right now. Yes, it should run XP programs.

There is a vista compatibility software, you need to run it on your xp and it will tell you incompatible software.

Some will, but many will not. Check out Microsoft's Vista Upgrade Advisor for more details (you'll need to download & install it) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=42b5ac83-c24f-4863-a389-3ffc194924f8&DisplayLang=en

If you want an XP laptop, you could check out http://www.ebay.com or http://www.craigslist.org
