The Irish potato famine occurred between 1845 and 1849.
During that time, Ireland was a part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

It was a part of the United Kingdom until 12 April 1927.

Ireland was a part of Great Britain, and then in 1919 they declared independence, 1921 they were a country "under brittish supervision", and in 1945 completely sovereign.
