I have a huge rock pile in the back of my house. It was left over from the prvious owners. I have been putting off constructing a patio for 2 years. I was wondering if anyone has any idea how to use the rock to build a patio. It would sure bring the pile down if I could pull it off. Im looking at making it 10 x 10 or 10 x 12. Any Ideas?

try diy.com, or hgtv.com. You can find step by step instructions with pics for making all sorts of patios.

I'm not a contractor, but what I would do is get some good firm sand from a landscape/hardware store, frame in the basic size of the patio, then layer the rocks and sand to where they were interlocking, put some concrete over the loose sand at the top, and keep it to where the surface of the stones were a bit above the "sand," and as smooth as I could get them(maybe run a roller over them before the concrete set). Then seal it off. Like I said, I'm not a contractor, just a thought.
