In early pregnancy when people say sore breasts do they mean sore nipples or the actual whole breast??

I am speaking mainly of sore breasts as a SIGN of pregnancy here.....

For me my nipples were only sore, then my whole breasts starting hurting and the nipples got a little less sore.

I did not have sore breasts at all during early pregnancy but my friend says she had an achy feeling from her armpit to sore sensitive nipples. This can be an early sign of pregnancy

I personally just had really sore nipples...my breasts were a tiny bit sore, but my tender nipples made in nearly impossible to take a shower. I think that's the first thing I noticed when I suspected I was prego.

Kind of both. The nipples are just more sensitive, and the breast are tender to the touch, if that makes sense.

Of course, I'm sure eveyone's experience is different, and some women don't experience sore boobs at all.

for my first it was just sore nipples and around the areola, but with this pregnancy its been the whole breast and the nipple. its different for everyone. i never had sore breast with pms but i heard that it feels likes that

Well I am almost 11 weeks pregnant now. My boobs started hurting at the normal time they would if I wasn't pregnant, a week or so before my period was due. (thought it was pmt boobs) Then the whole nipple thing happened when I was about 4 weeks pregnant. The symptoms are just starting to ease off now as I'm reaching the end of my 1st trimester. the whole breast is sore and tender, there is also a feeling of fullness to the breast

my whole breasts were sore as anything..there were times when i woke up i would get up a different way b.c the when i would sit straight up in bed they were painful....
