Back in 1999-2000 my best friend in college used to be involved in a few of these, and ran one himself.

Basically you do all the behind the scenes work that goes on in wrestling. You make your own wrestler moves an all, cut promos...script your own match......

The president's job is then to take what you write and another person writes, and put them both together to form a match. The president chooses the winners of the matches and everything. They had titles, stables, tag teams, and all that stuff.

I never got into them myself, but I was just wondering if anyone else was involved in them.

I was involved in several. From 1998 until 2002 or 2003, I bounced from promotion to promotion as different characters.

It started when a friend (Steve) of mine walked up to me in high school and said, "Well, you beat me." I had no idea what he was talking about, so I asked him to show me. Apparently, another friend (Justin) made up a character with my real name and put him into his own fantasy promotion. The fantasy version of me had just defeated Steve's character for the promotion's United States Championship. I took over my character and went from there.

While I've written segments and promos/roleplays for my characters, I've never been a part of a promotion where I had to write a match to determine a winner. I have written several matches in the past, but the winner was always decided by roleplay quality.

Those days were fun, and I might be interested in getting back into it. I'd be looking for a promotion that didn't use real wrestlers and only had one card a week.

I'm currently running one, but it's no tthat involved. You still put up promo's, or RP's, and you can start your own storylines and add segments to cards or shows, but we do the match writing for you. We're always looking for new members, so if you're interested e-mail me at jrf923@yahoo.com and I'll send you a link so you can check things out. It's created wrestlers only, so if you were planning on being a real WWE or TNA superstar, no dice. Just make sure when you e-mail that I know who what the e-mail's about or I'll delete it.
