My parents just gought me a new HP computer, it is great but wont be able to keep up with the proccesing speed i need. I want to purchase a new apple laptop that is fully loaded, but i have no way to make money and to persuade my parents. Movie editing is a thing i do reguraly and its a real fun thing to do. My family often goes to our house in marble falls which is like a 4 hour drive from where we live, being able to watch movies and edit on my laptop would be a great thing. Please i need a way to make money, and to tell my parents i will be responsible for this investment.

The thing is yall are all right! I feel sorta selfish for that, most of things in life really don't come as easily as breathing and things like that. But i do need a way to figure out how to repay my parents back and earn money, i am to young to get a job, and i don't really get an allowence.

I am very fluent in the text of HTML and CSS i have found ways to make money doing that, but my parents don't belive i can do it. They think that companys will pay people thousands of dollars more just because they went to school for it, My moms company hired a guy who did a really crappy job on theire website. I viewed their web source to reveal the guy used a low grade of HTML and image mapping. Why can't people understand that when kids are able to do something adults can do that means the kids are infferior to the people that went to college. http://www.freewebs.com/taxicrash/Graphics/content/TutsHTML/Indexx.html there is an example of a code that i made myself, the links don't work anymore because i discontinued my site. compared to this guys low rate Bitmappy images http://www.banburydance.com/

Even though the guys source looks clean it might be hard to the people that have to keep the site running, all of my coding is through iframes which take up less bandwith and less confusion!!!

Unfortunately, technology costs money.... I'm sure your parents bought you what they felt you needed. There is a difference between 'needs' and 'wants'......If your family felt that watching and editing videos at marble falls was a "need", they would have bought you that computer.

What you do 'for fun' is not a need.... it's a "want"..... anything "fully loaded" is a 'want'. Don't we all wish we can go out and buy the top of the line - fully-loaded equipment - but sad reality is....most of us can't. We work hard, save money - and if we're lucky - we get a 'want'.

If you're a college student - try to focus on class and work part time - you can always get a new computer down the road. If you put your energy toward success - you'll be able to buy yourself 'wants'. Movie editing may lead to good things and it's good to have that desire..... you don't say how old your are - keep saving your $$.

Hello Matthew!
Sorry Big Guy, your parents are right! Can you edit movies from your HP and charge money for doing it? Why not come up with something to do with editing that you can charge money for? All businesses are started by finding a need, and satisfying that need! You can make a laptop feasable if you can make it productive rather than just a toy! Somewhere, somebody needs a pro like you to edit their movies! Show them what you can do on your HP, then upgrade to something like a laptop! You sound pretty smart, and I just bet you can be a success!

Show your parents some constructive deeds. Good marks, care of house works,... and the most important thing is to show them your desire of movie editing and many many things which only a laptop can benefit...
