if you are going to teach dance start out with dances that don't need partners or circle dances.
make a whole bunch of hankies the same color 12 by 12
all have a rubber band around them put paper in them all but one has something written on it and is a slightly different color if at all possible. the message is " THE RED COATS ARE COMING" or Your it . a person in the center has to guess who has the secret message.

Join hands Circle L / count 8 then Cir R
face center three steps it Ladies then men at this time Men pass the hankies
do this about 8 times then stop and ask the It person to pick the Spy.
Have fun

You could have a couple of raffles for things like music store gift cards, giant stuffed animals, or movie certificates.
You could organize some cute games to get the kids up and dancing and to break the ice. Decorate with lots of moving spotlights. You could set a little time apart for karioke (my girls love showing off). You could do a fast funky song to the limbo. You could offer king and queen crowns like prom only do it by chance where everyone takes a number when they enter.

Lets see, you could get some Black Lights and black light paint, kids can paint themselves or others and it washes right off.

You could try personalized M&Ms wrapped in cellophane bags to take home or whatever.

Disco ball.

Fog machine.

Pizza.
