It doesn't appear to want to be bothered with any of the other fish.

My guess it is a live bearing fish that now has Bloat. This due to a Bacterial infection that is normally not going to make others ill. If it is a live bearer like a Platy or Mollie or Guppy they normally only live 18-24months. Sounds Cruel but I'd place it in a butter bowl with water and place in the freezer to put it down. Fish start to sleep when the temp.drops. I think it's more humane than the flushing while still alive. Try more Egg layers they live longer and are very Hardy except for Neon's can be sensitive. I've had fish for 40 years and the most important thing is water quality,Temp and filtration. Check with your local Mom and Pop Aquatic or Full line Pet Store for your better help and advise.

This does sound like live bearer behavior in pregnancy. If it's a molly, guppy, swordtail, or platy. I'd say she is knocked up. Any other type of fish it's likely got dropsy, and is dying. Dropsy is swelling caused by organ failure. The scale usually start standing out , and the fsh looks like a pine cone from above.

If all the scales are standing up, it may be drospy which is fatal. Euthenise by placing the fish in a zip lock baggie with a little water in it into the freezer. Sorry, if that's the case, internal bacterial infection is likely cause. Anti-biotic medicated food for all other tank mates to assure they follow the same fate.
