It was one of Ben Affleck's only good movies.
Bruce Willis' character dies in it.
It that happened for real we'd all be screwed.
Billy Bob Thornton was in it as a NASA engineer.
It was one of two asteroid disaster movies of the 90's Deep Impact was the other.
The Space Shuttle has no real manuvering capabilities and wouldn't be able to navigate an asteroid field like that.
Michael Clark Duncan's character in the movie who is black actually doesn't die which is a first in big movies like that.
The crew that they assemble to blow the Asteroid is an off shore oil drilling crew even though coal miners would have been better.
