Micheal J. Fox, in Back To The Future 4?

i keep on hearing that there is going to be a new movie called Back To The Future 4, starring Micheal J. Fox. Is that true?

Yeah, that rumour has been circulating for about a decade now.

Originally, Universal wanted to relaunch the series in connection to the whole Y2K thing, with Doc Brown realizing that all their time travelling was causing a rift that would destroy time at the turn of the century. Obviously, that film never happened.

Then, when Michael J. Fox became a hot property again when he did Spin City, they talked bout revitalizing the Back franchise again, but, then he got sick, and that stalled that.

Now, the original creators/writers (director Bob Zemeckis & producer Bob Gale) have said that Back To The Future without Fox wouldn't be worth it. And Fox has basically retired from film work, as it is too difficult for him. Until there's a cure for Parkinson's, Fox is only able to take on smaller roles in tv (like his guest spot on Scrubs a few years ago). A leading role in a film is impossible.

So, no, as far as I've heard, there is no plans on a new Back To The Future film, unless it was a remake done without Fox

I don't think they would do this because of Michael J Fox's health problem, but you never know.

I highly doubt it due to Fox's Parkinson's disease. He does voice overs.
