What are they arfraid of?
It is usually the fallout from friends, who just never knew. Parents are also a problem, as they "didn't raise my little girl to be one of....those!"
She should come out first to those she trusts

The best way to eliminate fear is with facts. I would recommend that they contact an organization like PFLAG. There they can safely discuss their concerns and hear what happened to others. They may find they have good reason to be scared and may not want to admit it until things change. (For example a student who believes they will be kicked out of the house may choose to wait until they graduate and move out before admitting it.) They may also find the support they need to overcome their fear and admit it.

Find comfort with people that they know would accept her. There is no need to rush into telling everyone until she is secure with every aspect herself. Some people never tell everyone, its all about comfort. If she is in a big metropolis there are groups and functions to attend so she can meet other gay and lesbians. Also chatrooms may not be the best, but there are some peeps who have a kind ear that will listen to problems, fears, etc. Good luck with the process, and welcome welcome to the clan :)

Work on becoming more accepting of and confident about their sexuality. Hang out with more gay/lesbian people can help.

tell them not to be afraid it's alright you'll stand by them.and if your a lesbian.then help this girl through it.by taking off her clothes.and touching her all over.and i want to give you a cyber bubble bath.
