Just to clarify, Napolean III did not die in 1870. He was defeated and captured (to the chagrin of Bismarck who thought Napolean would have been a better negotiator) at the battle of Sedan in Sept. of 1870, but he did not die until a few years later while living in exile in England.
As for French leaders, it's necessary to specify whether you mean before or after the Battle of Sedan as the answers will be considerably different.

Emperor Napoleon III of France was defeated in September of 1870, so for the early part of the year he was a French leader.

The following were several marshals in his army that fought in the Franco-Prussian War: Marshals François Achille Bazaine, Patrice MacMahon and Jules Trochu.
