I have the feeling that after all the posturing, if there is any harm done to the British troops, this will not be an issue.
FIRE FROM THE SKY! The best response comes from about 40,000 feet with a real smart tracking device. We just start popping stuff around the country and the Iranians will reconsider their political stance as far as their pipsqueak leader is concerned.

We should bitchslap the British into submission. Dammit, claim to be for democracy, then go throwing a military all over the place. They give free reign to Karl Marx and a bunch of fascists, but not to hard working people in their own country.
America is fighting against the wrong country. Free Ireland, Free Wales, Free Scotland, nuke Birmingham.
Any country stupid enough to start a war for 15 troops is (wait a minute, Germany did something similar, so did Serbia recently)... well, many more brits have been captured and tried in places like Saudi Arabia anyway, why not bomb them then? It's because you don't know your history, isn't it...

First you have to understand politics.
The kidnapping of the 15 troops has nothing to do with entered Iranian waters or whatever reason the Iran goverment puts out. This is to show their pleople that they are not afraid of the UK. This whole thing will blow away in a couple of weeks with us forgetting it the next day. In Iran however the goverment scores politically.

This isn't a movie. ***** Slap? Give me a break. So far no one has died in this incident. Is anyone insane enough to think that taking on Iran would be easier than taking on Iraq?
Suppose, just suppose, that Iran is right and the Brits were in Iran's territorial waters. Tehran would be legally justified in detaining them. The same would be true if an Iranian ship entered US or British territorial waters.
This needs to be handled diplomatically, not like we're in a John Wayne movie.

Ahhh well....that would actually involve DOING something! While we all know that kicking out a worthless dictator is worthwhile, the time and effort spent to get rid of the little turds of the world like these people isn't worth it to most people. It makes me glad that we didn't have this kind of thinking during WWII, or the allies would've given up on getting rid of Hitler within the first few battles. People just can't make that kind of commitment now. It's rather sad.

They are British soldiers. That means the British need to decide what they will do. They seem to have opted to pacify their left and pull out and this is what it got them. They showed weakness and it has been capitalized upon. That is the nature of the enemies we face.
