I do a 'hello? hellllllooooo (sarcastically) then i start mumbling to myself, usually calling them an idiot for wasting my time, and you dont ring somebody then put the fun down.
It really annoys me when you pick the fone up, say hello and they dont say anything, its freaky.

Two or three times and then check the handset to see if has been disconnected (normally has & I've been saying hello to thin air!)
