I have a new home built computer that I want to do a clean installation of Vista Premium. the moterboard has simple graphics and I do have a new Geforce graphic card. Do I need to install the graphic card before installing Vista and if so how do I do this without an existing operating system on the computer?

just put the card into the computer.
Vista should recognize it.
Don't forget to disable your onboard video from BIOS {Hit the 'Del' key while booting.
If after installing Vista it doesn't know your card (you should still have basic video) go to the manufacturers website and see if they have drivers for it on Vista
