Ideally face the greenhouse so the door and back end are facing east and west (assuming your greenhouse is longer that it is wide). Since the sun is to the south of us much of the year, the plants will get more sun this way. The more greenhouse surface area facing the sun the better.

Try to keep the greenhouse away from any hazards, such as tree branches that could potentially fall. Also, find a location to help shelter the greenhouse from the wind if you live in a windy area.

Finally, locate the greenhouse in an area where you will have access to water, electricity and possibly natural gas. It's important to ventilate your greenhouse with exhaust fans, and in most cases you will need some added heat in the winter.

To the south of your house or other harge building, so that it gets the longest possible amount of full sun.
