Sorry, can't help a lot but found this article from a search at:
http://www.biodiversitysussex.org/newsletter17.htm#sussexbiodiversityconference

"The carnivorous tendencies of bladderwort, the history of the marsh mallow, the local legends of Lily-of-the-valley and the Roman introduction of the starry clover are just a few of the mysteries revealed in Mary Briggs's 'Sussex Wildflowers'. Rather unusually this is not a botanical book aimed at botanists. It is aimed specifically at those with a general interest in flowers, but no in-depth knowledge. Often amusing and always engaging, this book takes its readers on a journey through little known nature reserves across the county encouraging readers to get out and about and experience at first hand, the excitement of discovering and identifying a plant within its natural habitat."

It's a book, but the author may be able to help as might Henri Brocklebank as he is the Biodiversity Record Centre Co-ordinator who is reviewing the book.

If you e-mail the appropriate conservation officer you might get a link to find the answers you require.

Hope that helps a bit in some way.

Thanks.

Lilly of the valley (Convallaria) is fairly common, i don't think you should have too much of a problem getting it . Have you tried the nurseries in Horsham?. Try Old Barn Nurseries Worthing road Horsham RH23 8NR
Tel:014371000
It's just off the A24
Good luck.
I throw loads of it out every year.
Agood seeds man will sell it in seed or try homebase, b&q, garden center for packet seeds.

We picked some up from Hilliers on the Brighton Road last year, not sure I have seen any this year at either there or Old Barn, Squires, Newbridge or Bolney.
Wait until April and ask at Lenardslee gardens when it opens see if they have any.

If you can find a nursery that specializes in wildflowers, that's a likely place.
