I would start my own, unless you have a prospect that is for sale, and a) you can afford to buy it; b) it has a steady customer base, and c) its financials are positive, and look to be so in the near future.

Like all other business ventures, you will need to research it before you can intelligently make a decision. Find out why the current owner is selling. Find out all that you can about the current company before you stick your neck out.

The advantage to buying one is that you start with an existing customer base and organization structure, so you don't have to create your own. Only you can decide whether the cost is worth the advantages. Good luck.
