Some of the questions I see are absurdly condescending in and of themselves.
When someone enters the arena on that level they get what they ask for. It's the person asking the question that sets the tone!

There are rude people all over the world.
On this Yahoo Answers...there are people of all ages meaning all different levels of knowledge. There are people on here from different countries as well and have been taught different things. Schools for example in China emphasize more on Math and Science then in the United States. So, I second you on the fact that people need to just be respectful and answer questions and move on and no need to make mean comments because some people are asking questions that they feel are easy and common sense...because you do not know what the asker knows or doesn't.

You are absolutely correct. I think there are two reasons why you will see rude answers to questions:
1) The person asking the question will sometimes ask the question with the obvious intent to be rude themself or will ask the question in such a way that they are intending to make fun of or demonstrate hatred/meanness toward a particular group of individuals. When a person asks a question in such a way as that, they will receive rude and angry responses.
2) Some people will respond rudely to the most innocent of questions because they are either immature or are just plain rude and think their rudeness is clever or appreciated, when actually, neither is true.

Yep, some people are pretty rude on here. But to be fair, there are also some pretty stupid questions at times - lol!
I don't answer every question on here. I only answer the ones I fee I can make a difference or help someone. Unfortunately, not everyone has that same philosophy.

I know exactly what you mean. Most people are so lovely and helpful, then theres the odd exception who is nasty and cruel. Don't let it get to you, lol I was so excited the other day after seeing my baby for the first time on an ultrasound scan that I posted saying "wow I'm so happy" Somebody posted an answer that was mean. Oh well, let them be like that hey! Never mind, I'm still just as happy and most people are great! x

Being mean is a learned trait.
Some people don't know how to be any other way.
It's sad.
And yes if they can't answer in a polite manner, they should just move on to another question.

April i wholeheartedly agree with you, the world if full of people who feel the need to belittle others in the pathetic attempt to gain a bit of respect from others (eejits). Anyway, i have to say though, if it was a plank asking a really stupid question, i would have to say stop being a dobber! lol xxx

There have always been rude people. The internet allows them to be rude somewhat anonymously.
