The Trojan war, there was a beautiful horse that was used as a decoy. Enemy warriors were hidden inside, and when the horse was brought into the city, troy was eventually destroyed.
A trojan in the computer world is a virus or some other bad program that got into your computer looking innocent and pretty. Perhaps it was hiding in a video, a game, a toolbar, a freeware program...
To remove it, download something like Zone Alarm, Panda, Norton... one of those, and run it. Do a search for viruses, spyware, you name it. If it finds it but can't remove it, try to find out where it is, and open up your my documents or my computer (assuming it's windows) and look for it, delete it.
You probably got the trojan from the web... from email or a web search. You can even get a trojan through websites telling you how to remove trojans! that's what a trojan is, an innocent looking sneak attack.
Don't listen to the guy who talks about pornography. You can get trojans from genealogy software, file sharing networks, pirated software, and political cartoons. I got one from accounting software I bought on ebay. (actually, it's usually from trying to break copyright. If you try to save money and get free or discount stuff rather than buying from reputable dealers, you put yourself in risk.).

good luck trying to remove it without those websites. its not as easy as you think. if you dont know what a trojan horse is and how it works, you will not have a prayer at successfully removing it.
trojan horses look like something interesting or useful until they get inside your computer. they then unload malicious programs that can range from keyloggers (that can steal your credit card information) to remote access programs or even data destructive programs.
trojans take many forms, and there is no one single way to remove all the forms. you will have to determine what kind of trojan it is and then go from there. some can be disguised as windows system files and some can attach to system registry files and make it really hard to just delete.
dont waste your time trying to figure it out, just get it fixed. i would recommend stopzilla from www.stopzilla.com.
depending on the maliciousness of the trojan and the files it put on your computer freeware, such as AVG and spybot s&d will NOT fix your problems.
if you have used a credit card online since your infection cancel it right away. it might be 6 months down the road, but more than likely your credit card info was stolen and it WILL be used.

Uh oh!!!! The only way to get a trojan horse is from pornograpy from what I've heard. Okay you want to remove it right. Immediatly go to your local Staples, Office Depot, Office Max, Best Buy, CompUSA, or Circuit City. Go and get Norton Antivirus 2007. Cost approx. $50.00!!! It is the only way to get a Trojan off. Download this program onto your computer as soon as possible. Run a Full System Scan and the do whatever it tells you to do. After this the trojan horse will be deleted. Also if you keep Norton Updated then you should never have a problem again. Several features of Norton are full system scan, quick system scan, automatic updates that keep all the latest viruses up to date and blocked, protection 24/7, you can also manually or automatically delete viruses. The best product I've bought.
