Hello. No .. 6 months is not an unusually long amount of time. I too had cysts, but only found out once I was pregnant.
I know it may sound like a funny question, ... but do you know when you are ovulating? Most books will tell you the best time for conception is day 14. I used to delay having sex until then, ... then go at it like rabbits!! HOWEVER!!!!! I DON'T OVULATE ON DAY 14 ... I OVULATE ON DAY 10!! So.... we were doing it at the wrong time!!
As you get older it is easier to tell when you are ovulating. You can buy kits at the chemist that will tell you. The natural signs (sorry if I'm pointing out the obvious) are thick clear mucus from your vagina, and back ache or a twinge where your fallopian tubes are.
Try and be aware of your own body,
and try and relax, 6 months honestly is not long.
Good Luck.... and let us all know when you have some good news!!
xxxx

I've got PCOS and I'm currently 33+ weeks pregnant. I found out about it when I was 17 after years of irregular periods and yo yo weighting. It took me pretty much two years to the date of coming off the pill to fall pregnant naturally.
I have been told that having a baby can sometimes stop PCOS, this is because PCOS is a hormone imbalance and being pregnant can regulate this, although this isn't the case with every pregnancy.
There isn't any pill you can take to help you to conceive quicker but having a low sugar diet and exercise does help. Try to keep your weight down (this is hard I know, having the condition makes it's easier to put on weight and hard to lose it, nice combination!). The lower your weight the lower the severity is of your PCOS.
Not all women find it hard to conceive, Victoria Beckham has PCOS and has had 3 children. If you do find getting pregnant a problem your GP will refer you to a fertility clinic after 12 months (instead of a usual 18 months). If you have been pregnant twice in the past though you might be one of the women who don't find getting pregnant hard.
Good luck and I wish you and your boyfriend all the best.

Ovarian cysts can make it more difficult to conceive, the best thing for you to do is relax, enjoy the time you have with your boyfriend and stop focusing solely on getting pregnant, Most couples take on average 12 months to conceive naturally, Are you using ovulation tests to ensure you are having intercourse at the right times?
Good Luck Hunny!

Just because you haven't conceived yet doesn't mean there's something wrong. Some couples try for years before they manage to get pregnant. However if you are worried about problems or complications make an appointment to see your doctor. They will be able to give you all the advice and any tests you may need to make sure all is ok. Good luck hun and remember, even though your not pregnant yet, you get to have plenty of fun tryin!!!!

6 months isn't that long. I've been trying for 6 years but I should have gone to the doctor sooner than I did. They discovered I had endometriosis which they've now cured so hopefully Lady luck will shine on me soon. I don't know anything about ovarian cysts sorry. Best to ask your doctor. Good luck :)

This can be very normal. Me and my husband had all the necessary tests etc before trying for a family. It took me 8 months to conceive my first child and am now 31 wks pregnant with my second which took us (dony get put off) 2.5 years. I actually found that once i finally relaxed and stopped trying so hard i'd actually forgotten about it and thought it wasnt going to happen. All of a sudden, hey presto pregnant!

i had a cyst on my left ovary, but they found it after i discovered i was pregnant, the midwife told me its very popular and most break away. Try different positions and don't get into sex just being for you to get pregnant or you or your partner will start to resent it. Try and make it as fun as possible and it helps if you orgasm too! Try this site it has a few handy tips:
www.pregnancy.org
go to getting pregnant and then getting started and fertility and conception tips.
hope this helps - good luck!

Yes anything affecting your ovarys or fellopian tubes will cause a delay in trying to conceive. Ovarian cycts may mean that you cannot ovulate and in turn cannot have children.
This causes irregular and sometimes more painful periods and ovulation will not take place if you have any defect in the normal cycle. You need treatment for the cycts and even after that theres no guarentee that u will conceive naturally, you may need ivf.
