I've been doing "office work" as an accountant for several years. I chose this profession because I know I will always be employed, someone always has to count the money. I choose my environment based on personal needs. I prefer to work for smaller companies (usually at lower wages), and choose a company with a business plan that I feel actually contributes something to the world. I thoroughly enjoy being able to esure a company's survival through my contributions to their financial solidity.

I would NEVER take a higher paying job working for "the man".

I've been asked similar questions before. If I like to prepare taxes isn't a positive question its more of a nominal, based on how people view preparing taxes. I don't do my job because of the money, I do it for the work itself. As a business major I know that in the future, my skills now as a tax preparer will come benefit me in the long run. The only stress is that which is contagious that my fellow coworkers bring in. I enjoy what I do, otherwise I would not be doing it. Again its not for the money but for the actually work and experience. I'm also very involved in my school as well as my community. I'm a 2 year volunteer with AmeriCorps, and a part time tutor at a neighborhood middle school, I'm in a band, I'm a DJ, I like to go out, so I tend to always be busy. At school the only pressure comes from the activities that the clubs and organizations I belong to force us to participate in, even though I do help in the planning committee. Have an open mind when you work, and it will pay off. If you don't like what you are doing then that job isn't right for you and one day you will find something that interest you. Don't limit yourself to one area of expertise either. Good luck with everything.

i love my work... regardless of the benefits and money, i think its the environment that matters, lets say the facilities, and most of all the people around you, if you have a good relationships with your co-worker you wouldn't notice the time, and no matter how hard or heavy the job it can be done with an ease...
