I've been told I have a good voice -- the only problem is I don't know whether or not I need to have headshots of myself when I send my demo CDs to agencies.

Yes, you do need a head shot. It's a staple requirement for anything you do in this business. Your head shot should be as professional in quality as possible, as well as the demo tape you send along with it... they are your "first impression" to an agency. You might want to look at websites of the agencies you are considering and see how the VO actors on their current roster represent themselves. There will also be samples of their VO tapes so you can put yours together in the same way. God bless!

No you do not need a headshot.
The purpose of your demo CDs,
from their perspective,
is to eliminate you (same as the
purpose of resumes). If you are
still in the running after your CDs,
they will ask you for more information.
Since your voice is not determined
by what your head/face look like,
you do not have to provide information
that may be used to discriminate against
you. In fact, agencies prefer that you not set
them up for a potential lawsuit.

I wouldn't think so, no. I can't imagine why they would care what a v/o actor looked like.
