No, Joss Whedon always said that that was the end of it.. If the movie had done better then he might have considered it or made more movies... Just enjoy the DVD's... :D Also watch Jewel Stait in Stargate: Atlantis... :D

No. When they made the movie Serenity, they were hoping it would be the start of a movie franchise, but the movie didn't do well enough for the studio to fund any further ones. Had the show been picked up right away by another network when it was cancelled, it might have gone on, but now, 2 years after the movie, it's not coming back.

Despite being a huge Scifi fan this series never really clicked with me - I guess that must have been a general thing because it only lasted 17 eps didnt it.

There are a few I liked that didnt get decent exposure but I suppose theres not a lot we can do if they can cancel the longest continuous running scifi show of them all SG1.
