Scientists Have proven this to be true, we only use 10% of our brains each day. Does this mean we are 90% wrong each day? Could the scientists be wrong?

You use 100% of your brain all the time. You may be consciously aware of only 10% of your brain activity, but the other 90% is always working. Think of all the activity your brain has to mediate....sensation, perception, thoughts, movement, your circulatory system, your circadian rhythm....and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Almost every nerve cell in our brains is active most of the time. Scientists can detect this activity by measuring the electrical currents of nerve cells near the surface of the brain. More complex tests like PET (Positron Emission Tomography) can detect oxygen consumption, blood flow or glucose consumption (the sugar that is the brain fuel) by active neurons in all areas of the brain, not just the surface. Just about ALL of the human brain is busy all the time—even when we're sound asleep.

I have a question for you. Why ask a rhetorical question on Yahoo Answers? The purpose of Yahoo Answers is to get answers.......

Well when we are contiausily awake it's hard to use our whole brain. We would all be genises if that happened. Some people though were born with natural ability to tap into that other ninety percent. If youve heard of Kim Pete then you know what I'm taling about. Also if you sustain an injury to a side of the brain it forces you to use more of the other half of our brains. I know once you sleep you use more of youre brain and if you can lucid dream than that gives you acesss to all of your brain. Even if we don't use, but 10% of our brains we still can do some amazing things. I mean Estenin was just like us(in terms of the amout of his brain he used) he just knew how to use that ten percent he had.

The scientist are correct. The way u expand your brain is to use it.Like reading, takeing words or numbers off a page and seeing if u can remember all of them..Your brain is kinda like a muscle. The more u use it the better it gets. Plus no to your other question. Just because u only use 10% doesn't mean that 10% isn't always right.Plus this is the majority of people not all.

We don't use the same 10% everyday. It rotates around the brain which part we use each day. Today you might use the 10% on the left hemisphere while tomorrow you could use 10% by the brain stem. Helps keep the brain fresh.

We only use 10% for conscious thought. The entire brain is working. Just not thinking.

Guess what? This isn't true! Although clever copywriters might lead you to believe otherwise, most neuroscientists and brain specialists these days agree that the widespread 10% factoid is myth, based on misinformation.

It is a myth.

We use 100% of our brain, besides the function of thinking it governs the whole body. Therefore even if we are in a comma, the brain still keeps the heart pumping.

We use all of our brains. We only live up to 10% of our potential.

if this is true, scientists also only use 10%, which leads me to think they could be wrong or at least is only an early theory in how our brains work.

its a paradox
