I had my 17th birthday yesterday, and my best friend got me tadploes. I know crazy. But what happens to them when they grow up? I know they turn into frogs but how do you take care of them then?

this might not help at all, because i'm going off of the one and only only time i caught frog eggs from a pond and tried to raise them like 15 years ago. i gathered the eggs, put them in a tank with the proper conditions, and watched them hatch into tadpoles! it was great...until the tadpoles started attacking whoever started getting "froggy" first...they were little cannibals! it was pretty tragic and i'm not sure why it happened. i gave them food, etc. each morning there would be at least one tiny froggish skeleton floating at the top, picked clean of anything edible.

basically, i'd do some online looking to see if this is a common problem, or just me getting evil juju frogs or something.

eventually 5 made it to frogs (the meanest of the lot!) and i was able to release them back to the pond i pulled the eggs from. if your friend found the tadpoles locally (from the wild, that is) you can probably re-release them if you can't keep a bunch of frogs. otherwise, i'd find out exactly what kind of frogs these tadpoles will produce. maybe a petstore will take them off your hands if they're common pets.

mine also croaked ALL night once they became froggies, so beware!
good luck

feed fish flakes to them as tadpoles. then give them crickets when they change into frogs buy them at the pet store...... or give them back to your friend as a birthday gift .as they will be different by then best of luck
