It is normal for young women to experience changes in their menstrual cycle, particularly if their mother of sisters have experienced similar things. However, if you have any real worries you should consult your doctor. They should keep your visit confidential if you do not wish the information to be shared with parents. And you should not feel embarrassed about talking to a doctor. You will not be the first young woman to ask questions about periods and you will not be the last.

It's normal. If you are not sexually active and you know you are not pregnant for a fact, then you have no need to worry in that area. You may still want to have your mom schedule an appointment for you at the gynecologist just to get checked or you could go to a free or income-based clinic if insurance is a problem. When I was about 12-14, I used to get my periods about every two months. They were very irregular, but they never did quite get all the way regular. Now, I take birth control to reduce pain from periods as well as keep my periods regular so I know exactly when they will start and stop (which is very handy). This irregularity might stop in a few years or so, but some people do live their whole lives with irregular periods. Talk to your doctor about it to rule out any medical problems, though.

It's not normal really.. after you reach 100 pounds you get your period. But if you lose pounds and go under 100 you lose it.. and you could be going on and off because you weigh different each month.
