my fish have ich, (white spots on there body/fins)
ive been doing the treatment since tuesday and i havent seen any change as yet! my clown loaches are covered in the stuff and one of them has like a moss growing on him now (as well as the white spots) he really doesnt look well at all, i think he may die very soon! from some of the answers on yahoo, ive gone with what i thinks the best. so this morning, i did a 20% water change, turned the temp upto 77f, turned my filter off and put the treatment in. can you tell me if i have done this right? also should i turn the temp up higher?
thanks in advance

You should raise the temp a little more, to about 80 - 82. We just had a similar experience at the pet store I work in, and the treatment wasn't working until we raised the temperature to the temp I mentioned above. Good luck with your fish, I know it's not fun dealing with these illnesses, etc.

Turn your filter back on, you just need to remove the carbon.

Turn the temp up to 80 degrees, and get the really sick fish out of the tank right now. If it is on its last legs the best thing to do for it is to put it out of its misery now instead of letting it suffer.

It can take a week or so to see any improvement in your fish when they have a bad case of ick so keep doing what your doing and be patient.

Good Luck.

turn up the temp to at least 80 degrees f. Add salt to the water, ich hates salt. Unfortunately it does not sound like ich on ur clownloach and I think u r probably right that he is not long for this world. The different treatments vary in their effectivness. I like copper but it is fairly toxic for cats and loaches. good luck

Run your filter without the carbon in it! Never turn off your filter.
