It is a scam.

There has been similar questions and opinions at Yahoo! Answers itself - people reporting overseas companies asking money in the name of Visa etc.You may get in touch with the company via secured channels and seek about the genuinity of the offer. Additionally, in response to the offer mail, ask them to adjust Visa and other charges against your first salary; most likely they will go quiet or get to illogical excuses. No company worth its name would ask for money - at the most would make you to arrange for your Visa etc of your own. Stay cautious and don't fall to such scams.
