Your never too old!!! there are many older people at my dance school. i dont know about other styles but in ballroom, latin, modern sequence and classical sequence competitions still run for the over 50's and thats at a competitive level...so just go for it, whether competitive or just social and have fun! you'll get so much out of it too.

Sometimes when you get older you think about how your life could have been changed if you had done other things that you thought about. As you know, it's called hindsight. Even though I lot of people say hindsight is not a good thing and you should just forget about it, I think hindsight is great. I started dancing when I was very young and from my point of view, I danced instead of doing drugs because I always got a "natural" high when I danced.

One of the things I always appreciated as growing up was the artistic abilities of pianists and even though I enjoyed listening to piano playing from the great artists and those at piano bars, I never took it up.

I am 66 now and I'm thinking of realizing that dream. Why don't you realize your dream and "go for it"! You'll be so happy you did and you're meet some wonderful people along the way.

You can start at any age. All you need is drive. If you want to dance, and you are dedicated to the art, then go for it! Many studios have beginning classes specifically for adults. If it's for an older child/ adolesant, many studios will put them in a younger class for the first couple of months to 1 year just so they can get the basics, then after that move them up to the correct class.

dancing is great for all ages, and it's never too late to try.

i would advise signing up for a dancing class at a local fitness center. when there, you can talk to an instructor about the best dance style for you to learn. the good thing about dancing is you can take it at your own pace, unlike many sports such as soccer or tennis. give it a shot!

you are never too old to learn a new skill. If you wanna start dancing good on you, but will have to find a place that will take on mature beginners, as most place start for little kids.
