Does listening to a recording of a speech during your sleep actually help you memorize it?
I have heard that it works, or is it just a myth (it most probably works for some people). Any tips or hints on memorizing a speech? It is a poetry deconstruction that goes for 6 and a half minutes (925 words). How long would it take to memorize? I am presenting it tomorow. Is there even any point trying to memorize it? I have a page of dot point notes, but they are very helpful, as in they dont really link sentences or jog my mind. Thank you very much if you can help.

I seriously tried learning this way while in school. To tell the truth, if it helped, I wasn't aware of it. Memorizing can be faulty, as well.
The best way is to actually put yourself into the project and learn your subject. That way, you won't be nervous because you are comfortable, knowing the subject matter, not relying on memory or trusting the sleeping myth.

No. They tried it one, I think on discovery channel, and it was useless. The girl who was put on to the test didn't answer a single question after they asked her about what she heard while sleeping.

Both my son and daughter used this method to study. Just set is before you go to sleep and have it set to repeat all night and it works.

If you practice 'self hynosis' and instruct yourself to memorize the message while sleeping,...it WILL work! I do it often!
