OK hi. So.. what you should do is wear straight stripes shirts (up and down) they are very flattery. Also, if you wear a lot of layers then that also works. You should get clothes that fit your body shape and that make you feel comfy. Here are some links to places that sell really cute clothes and I'll show you some flattering shirts.

(with a camisole/tank under obviously!

With a pair of capris because you are conscious about your thighs at the top you said.

I would buy jeans that are boot cut and slightly longer than you would normally buy so that you can wear shoes with a heel on them. This will make your legs look longer and take the focus away from your thighs. Also never wear ankle strap shoes or cropped pants as this will shorten the look of your legs. If you must wear anything less than full length pants, try long city shorts or capris that end right below the knee.

As far as shirts, long tunics will be flattering as would fitted shirts with wide belts worn slightly above the waist.

Vertical lines, in patterns or materials, give a slimming look. I find if a girl shows a tiny bit of skin around the waste it takes the focus away from the other parts of the body; belly button rings or waste type jewelry have the same affect, but I'm just a guy with an opinion, but I hope it might help.

for tops, don't wear anything too low cut, you'll get way too much attention. A squeare or boatneck neckline would look good. on the bottom, if you are self concious about your thighs, try an A-Line skirt. their narrowest part is at the waist and then they flare out, hiding anything you want covered.

You might want to go to the mall and just try on different things that will help you get an idea of what goes best on you. So many nice things, but not everything out there looks good on everyone...Try fashion 21, they have lots of cute stuff to play with...

Black should tone down your thighs. But it sounds as if you would look nice in light or bright colors.Maybe yellow or like a lime green but don't go too bright.
