The career fields you have are boundless!! Here are a few suggestions depending on your other interests...you just have to be a little creative!
1. Biologist/geneticist--could work to study and cure common equestrian diseases (note: this would be different from a vet in that you wouldn't necessarily be treating the animals)
2. Marketing/sales representative--could work for a major company selling equestrian products (for feeding, grooming and care)
3. Anthropologist or Sociologist--could work to understand the role horses played in past and present societies through archeological, sociological or ethnographic study (e.g. in agriculture or transport)
4. Zoologist--could work in a zoo or similar facility and create a safe environment for the animals (including horses, zebras, and other similar animals)
5. Artist--Photograph, paint, sculpt or sketch horses!
6. College professor--say you don't want to actually be a vet, but you could get the education, continue to work in the field (research or treatment) and teach other students who were interested in that career path.
7. Small business owner--get a degree in business then hire a few vets and start your own business. You could carry all types of equestrian products and services.
8. Social worker or therapist--I know of many programs for young children with special needs or injuries that involve horses and promote the therapeutic benefits of riding. Get a degree in social work or special education and work for one of these organizations.

There are probably many, many more, but this list should get you started! Just remember the sky's the limit and there's a program for just about anything out there these days!

Veterinary technicians - check out the Bel-Rea institute's website for more information. You could also explore equine biology from the scientific point of view or the physics of running..??

I'm sure some kind of trainers for horses have degrees just like human trainers get degrees; i.e. sports trainers, football trainers, track trainers, etc...
