This occurred at multiple levels and many places in society, and is sustained this way. It is the basic honor of all that recognize our equal rights, as well as our equal responsibility to one another. To focus on leaders only, is to invalidate the support and contribution, no matter how big and how small, of all those unknown and unspoken of in the history of it. It is quite possible that there were unseen and unspoken individuals in history that played a much bigger part that many of us are unaware of.

This is still a good question, so long as it is not egocentric in nature, but rather to identify the honorable role that any human can play that ensures the establishment of equality for all, not just women.
