What will kill them and and not my grass?

The answer will vary depending on your location, the type of grass, what your "stickers" actually are, etc.
You would be best to contact a knowledgable person at a local garden center for info. Take one of your 'sticker plants" to show them what you have.
Here, I would use trimec to kill such pests. If you could take a picture of the weed, and send it to me, I might could help you better.
PS....DON'T kill the SweetGum trees!!!

To poison something, you need to know what kind of plant it is. Can you take a picture and post it online somewhere, then link us to it, or at least describe it?

You can use a pre-emergent insecticide. Hand weeding is the best way.
