What is the difference between a pixie and a fairy?

The Way I See It:

Pixie: Usually a theme color, emitting sparkles, small, round wings, very playful, very small (about 1.5-3"). Look very child like, and always have a gleam in there eye.

Fairy: More noble, more regal, can stand up to 8", looks human in color, wears long flowing clothes. Has long, point wings that can actually stand an inch or two or three taller than the fairy. More grown-up.

Pixie- One myth states that pixies were a race of people who were not good enough for Heaven or bad enough for Hell and were therefore forced to remain on Earth forever. Another legend claims that they were Druids who resisted Christianity and were subsequently sentenced by God to grow smaller and smaller until they accepted Christianity.
