I think he just loves his hat. There doesn't have to be anything special about it.

Who knows? Sparrow is a strange one. I understood the specialty of the compass, but I understand the importance of the hat about as much as I understand why he was hugging a jar of dirt. Maybe he just likes it???

Its a capatains hat, and he wants to be the captain of the ship. do u think u can be a captain without a captain hat?

the fact that it is his hat and the kracken had the ship because thay had his hat and the tailer to 3 is great with the wirl pool and davy jones
