Kobe Bryant has always been a very selfish player, why do you think the championship Lakers broke apart?? Because of him, the Lakers lost their coach, Shaq, Gary Peyton, and Karl Malone.

Uh-oh, here comes another one of them comments like: "Kobe's a ballhog, a rapist, and this and that..." What can I say? Get a life and move on.

Unless your blinded by your hatred for Kobe, I'm sure you'd see that Kobe is doing everything he is capable of doing to get his team to win and stay alive for the race to the playoffs. He is a very fierce competitor and doesn't want to lose. That's how passionate he is about basketball.

Put yourself in Kobe's shoes, if you're the SUPERSTAR on a team and everyone expects so much from you (and your team is losing games one night after another), do you honestly think you'd just lay down and go down without a fight? If your answer is "yes", then you don't deserve respect and should be kicked off the team. That's why Kobe scores 50+ a night because this is already a very critical part of the season.

So you haters out there, stop your whining. The past is done. No whining you ever do can change it. Move on and accept the fact that Kobe Bryant is one of the best basketball players in the NBA right now (at least respect his skills man) and his dedication and passion to the sport is unrivaled.

As for a shoe contract, I don't think Kobe cares about that at this point in time. He's already with Nike and he's making a lot of money already. At this point in his career, to win another championship is more the issue that Kobe wants to do.

This is what I think, I think your one of those retarted fat little kids who's never made a basket in your life who can only watch basketball and who barely knows the rules, who feels sorry for himself because he can't play b-ball and therefore feels jelous of the best player in the game, one of the best ever and says he's a selfish ball hog. This whole year kobe has not been selfish, last year he was, not this year, Phil Jackson wanted Kobe to start passing the ball, letting other players get a touch, now come playoff time, Phil Jackson is letting Kobe loose, because he knows if Kobe plays his best, he will dominate and win. Have even noticed that the Lakers are 4-0 not because Kobe has been acctually shooting? THis is what Kobe is made of, he listened to Jackson, started passing for the majority of the season, wasn't working great so now Kobe is doing it by himself. I'd rather have a teamate like Kobe, let a guy like that make all the points, and we win the championship, instead of the star player just passing it to medioce - parr players that may shoot 30%, and we win a couple games. I'd rather have a ball hog teamate and win, than a guy who passese a ball when he doesn't need to, and loose.

I'm a Pistons fan BTW

He is not being a ball hog. People need to understand this. If he doesnt take 30 shots the team loses, and if he does he gets called a ball hog. Get off the guys back, hes just trying to win a few games for his team. Im sure the guys dont really mind as long as they are winning.

No i am not a Kobe fan, however I think that he is a great player.

No, he's gunning for Wilt's record of scoring 50 points in at least 7 straight games. He just wants to stamp his signature on the season, like he did last year with his 81 point game, to support his claim on the "best basketball player on the planet" label. If he gets new advertising contracts out if it, it's just icing on the cake for him. I think he has Phil Jackson's support as long as they are winning. Bryant has the scoring skills and L.A. has the cushy schedule to make it happen.

Even Kobe haters can't argue with the fact that scoring at least 50 points in today's NBA from the guard position in each of seven straight games takes great offensive skill to do. WIlt had the advantage of height and strength to dominate with shots close to the basket, while Bryant has to rely on mostly jumpers and free throws to score that many points.

kobe bryants "selfish" play is all about winning, his team is grateful for that. It is pathetic how you can criticize him for doing something that no other gaurd has ever done before!! not even micheal jordan!! and let me remind you he is shooting over 50% something that a lot of guards can't do!!
