ok, so i have these two cotton tops with spaghetti string arms, and they are very thin and very casual-wear (lounge wear) So, i was thinking i'd wear them at the beach, but I just don't want to go without a bra, and i don't want to wear a strapples bra because i want to be completly comfortable... so, if i just wear sports bras under them that coordinate with them in color, would it look alright?

Sports bras generally tend to give a woman that uniboob effect, which is fine for exercising, you don't want your breasts just bouncing around. This is not a look that most women want out in the public sector.
I think that you should look for a bathing suit bra style top in a coordinating color to wear under your cotton tops.
Another reason you may want to rethink the sports bra, most of them are very snug fitting, and that could be uncomfortably hot and sweaty as the day went on.

As for your suggestiion, it might work ... if the sports bra is dark brown, say, and the cotton top is lime or yellow-green .... it might look quite pretty .... even if the sports bra is white, and the tops are another color, it would be ok too ... just as long as the sports bra looks like a top rather than a bra once you get the other top put over it ...

It's not a choice I would make. I would try to buy a spaghetti strap tank top that had a built in shelf bra. If my boobs were too big for that, I would probably give up the spaghetti strap idea all together.

I don't think it would look good - however, some sports bras have the spaghetti straps and not the thick back criss-cross straps - if you have the thin ones, those would look fine since all you could see would be 2 different sets of straps

Ok, well in American eagle, there is this bra that looks like a regular bra, but it's a sports bra!!! buy one that matches the tank top and wear it!!!

its kinda tacky. I would wear a regular bra with straps. Most sports bra's shouldnt be worn unless actually doing a sport! You will look a lot better with a regular bra!

actually, you can find skinny strapped sports bras. But if the thick strapped sports bra was color coordinated, it might look pretty good

if the colors coordinate it would look fine.
and to all the stupid people who said it would look "tacky" you are sadly mistaken if you look in the new YM, and Cosmo Girl magazines there was an advertisement of a tank. with a sportsbra lookalike coordinated in color paired with bermuda shorts and some cute flip flops. it was simply adorable.

it wouldn't look that horrible. as long as your spaghetti-strapped tank top is on it. then it would look stylin. but if the sports bra is thin you would want to put it on your shoulders...SO it would look like a tank top. but if the straps are thick keep the top on it.

Doesn't sound cute. Buy a bathing suit. There are bathing suits that are like sports bra style.
