My friend Paige is 16 and she got pregnant, and her dad is making her have an abortion. But while shes been pregnant shes been going out drinking and smoking....shes going to kill her baby if she keeps that up. me and most of her friends just told her to have the baby and then put it up for adoption. and the dude she had it with dumped her for someone else. he said that an abortion is a good choice...the only person its good for is him because he is a selfish asshole. but the main point is....is there anything i can do to help my friend get through this

tell her that open adoption is when you can see the kid but he lives with a family. also ask her how would she like it if her parents knocked down vodkas while she was developing, hmmm?

Paige needs to know that if she wants to have the baby, she needs to let her dad know this and stand up to him. Provide the support for her in that way. I do not condone abortion in anyway and thank the lord everyday that my birth mother was not of the mindset that so many people here seem to have. When I was your age, I made a mistake. A good friend came to me and explained that she was pregnant and her boyfriend had abandoned her. She asked me to take her to the doctor's for an abortion. I refused to take her as I don't believe in it but I didn't know that she really wanted someone to help her change her mind and give her support. She had another friend take her to the Dr. but didn't tell her why. When that friend found out later, she was mad at me for not warning her. My good friend to this day, cries over the mistake she made. and I regret not being there to give her the real support she needed. If Paige's dad is not going to be there for her, where is her mom? Is there any family who can take care of her and help her through this.
To put a period on this story, I have met my birth mother and have a relationship with her as well as my adoptive parents. and the brothers and sisters I have met that I didn't know about.

Just ticklish matter. Usually friends and fellows can nothing on such circumstances. Aside from relatives, it's important her opinion and will. By your words we read she even gets no care towards foetus and evidently doesn't wish it. Her dad solution could be the best for her, aware of her mind and position. Abortion isn't a good choice but adoption isn't better surely! We have a lots of children abandoned in orphanages or creches and the most part of them don't have happy or normal life then!
Thus, in this case the dilemma is - it's better one more abortion now or a miserable weak solitary kid in future!?
Can you able to decide and assume command of the situation then?

Honey, if her father is telling her to have the abortion, and that is what she wants to do also, there isn't much you can do but be there for her. Where the drinking and smoking may not actually kill her baby, it may more than likely do some harm to the fetus.
No matter what, please, if you love your friend, just be there for her. Having an abortion doesn't really hurt physically, but it could more than likely, leave an emotional scar on her.

Your friend is going to have to go through this mainly on her own. You can be there for her and talk with her, but it's obvious that she wants to do things her own way. I would just keep talking with her about the dangers of smoking and drinking....especially when you are pregnant.

u just gotta be there for here, and support her no matter what her choice is. ur friend seems pretty messed up to me, getting pregnant and then smoking and drinking, whats up with that? not much more u can do.

I don't get why people are so mean about abortion. When it's needed, it's needed!!! Since she's already been killing the said baby, the abortion should be done.

my gf is pregnant and she is.....younger and we decided that it would be safer for her to have an abortion and i think the decision should be left to her what ever ur friend decides u should support because she WILL need it

No there's not much you can do for her. Tell her how bad she'll feel if she kills her kid. Tell her you won't be friends with her anymore if she doesn't get her act together.
