How come most of Chinese people in the US are rich? What is the secret?

I see a lot of Chinese people driving a very expensive car, Mercedes Benz, Lexus, BMW. I drive by expensive houses, most of them are owned by Chinese. I mean, what is the secret? How could they be so rich like this coming to America, with very little English (no offense) and not having a profession what so ever. Business owners? High-roller gamblers? They don't spend much? I know when I see my kind of folks driving an expensive car, oh they must be working two or three jobs. Can anyone tell me?

Dennis - I live in Shanghai and the Chinese say the same about the foreigners here, they same ALL Westerners are rich what is their secret, well, I think the reason is is that in the States only the cream of the crop go to study, since they are the cream of the crop they end up with great paying jobs and very wealthy, also if you have money in China you can basically do anything, just like the USA, I have lived in China for almost 10 years now and trust me, there are stupid people in this country just like there are stupid people in the USA

there are a lot of variables in what you seek. they do tend to work alot of long hours at lower pay, save it all, and everyone in the family contributes to the main fund, take little out for extras that we would consider essentials, ie cell phones, movies, pets etc wether skin color matters or not is irrelevant, there are a lot of rich blacks in the world too, and they`re rich for the same reason, everyone contributes quietly to the family fortunes and they waste nothing, share nothing with people outside their immediate families, looks can indeed be deceving, especially when you see one guy driving a beat up ford escort home from work on friday, and saturday he`s driving a full sized motor home and a bmw trailered on the back on saturday.

There's a simple explanation to this
Most immigrants in general come to the US seeking a better life. In China, and most other asian countries, only the most educated and richest are able to immigrate to the US. Consequently, most of the Chinese people you see in the US are rich.

They have a very different attitude about work than most Americans. Yes, some of them have 2 or 3 jobs, they are business owners, and they tend to put more into savings than we do.

I advise till now usa of america bombed them. perhaps in WW 2? Er, your elementary ww2 historic previous is sorely lacking. the only use of nuclear weapons in anger (i.e. conflict) have been used on japan via usa of america to end international conflict 2. mockingly, the nuclear weapons in all risk stored over one million million lives ... which grew to become into the minimum projected dying tolls for an invasion of mainland japan. They have been by no skill allies in conflict to my information.

I think it is because they all help each other out , when they open a business they will group together to help that person succeed, many cultures do this. Americans don't seem to do this, we have to do everything on our own we don't band together like many do, its a shame really.

Asians are a very hard working peoples, determined to succeed. After we fought a guerrilla war and bombed the British out of our country and tossed off our colonial shackles, we went from 3rd world extreme poverty to semi 1st world in 30 years, and we are an Asian country.

That's because most of them are harder workers.
We work 8 hours and go home for 16. They work 16 ,or longer, and go home for 8 ,or less. More work = more money.
They come from a society that does that.

You know, if there's ever a greatest race on Earth, it's got to be the Chinese.

The Chinese (er, actually most Asians in general) are the smartest (generally speaking) race to prove themselves so. Plus, Chinese are one of the most hardworking of races (if not THE). Many of them establish their own businesses when coming to other countries, or have a famiy-owned business.

Plus, they don't complain like so much of the ghetto blacks we see (don't get me wrong, there are many many smart, hardworking black people, but lots of ghetto blacks seem to always complain and feel sorry for themselves). The Chinese (and come to think of it, other races) have been in just as bad, if not much worse, conditions than "da hood". Asians in general have been oppressed in so many places and so many ways, and yet we don't give that much crappy attitudes and go running around looking for trouble like those gangstas. That's probably why Chinese are on top.
