Nothing much you can do. I have been growing a beard for about two months now, and is seems that it's just a matter of letting the hair grow and controlling/training it into a position that makes it seem thicker than it really is.

beard growth and body hair is genetic. If your father and brothers have a lot of hair then you will too, eventually.

shaving stimulates hair growth ironically. you should shave (wet, with gilette or something that is) alot for a while, like two times a day for a few weeks. and then hope for the best
