Try the testers. But the biggest help is to talk to the person at the make-up counter, they will know the right product for you. These people are expirenced and they no what will look good on you. If you go to a place where they will put the make-up on you before you buy it, thats where you will get the best product!
Lise Waiter is what I use, its a higher end product you can buy at any Shoppers Drugmart and runs for about 32 $. Very Nice !

Check in a mirror with natural sunlight. Try the wrist test, poll some people (if your feelings don't get hurt easily). Or actually go to a make-up counter and get professional help. Also, alot of make-up aisles carry tester colors you can buy that have about 3 or so shades to find the perfect match.

What you do is....when you go into the store to pick out the color....rub a little bit of it on the inside of your forearm. This part of your arm is very light compared to the rest.....this skin tone is as about as close to your face skin tone as you can get!! Good Luck!

Well if you really are unsure I suggest Almay Smart Shade. There are only three of them, one for light skin, one for medium skin and one for dark skin. When you put it on it blends to match your skin color because of the microbeads in it or some other thing I forget.

If you blend a little on the back of your hand, and don't see a change of colour, but just a nice glow or sheen, that's the one.Unless you are tanned just on the face.If so,then do the same on one whole cheek and compare the 2 in same way as on hand.Good luck.

I think foundation is where you should splurge a little. to me it's most important. Estee Lauder is also my favorite too. But you shuold go to a department store and have someone at the counter match it for you.

Put a little bit on your cheek and rub it in. If that spot matches the rest of your face, it matches.

try it out ON YOUR FACE, a bit on your jawline (palest area) and a bit on your 4 head (darkest) and check it looks ok with both. take a handmirror and go out side 4 a while and look 2 c if it looks good in natural light as well as synthetic. dont put it on ur wrist/hand, its not the smae colour or texture as ur face!

make sure there is no line between your face and your neck. also you can put a little bit on the top of your hand and see if that blends in or put it on your jaw line and if that blends then you are good to go.
