Everyone's thinking same as you do.The Xbox360 has been here since around 1 and a half year though there is no price drop in it.

Since the PS3 and Wii have been launched in less than 4 months back, the Xbox 360 is now facing some competition in the global gaming market.

Though Microsoft is yet not decreasing the price of their console because of it's price already being in the middle of it's two rivals, some dollars less than the PS3 and some more than the Wii.

There are 2 main reasons for microsoft not deducing the price of their gaming console. The first was the above one that i discussed.

The 2nd reason is that Xbox 360 is the largest selling and the most popular console in the market of the 3rd generation gaming.

Apart from that, also due to expensive and advanced hardware and the Xbox 360 being the most superior console in overall [though the PS3 is expensive!!], Microsoft are not going to decrease or deduce the price of their console.

But, if the sales of the Xbox 360 decrease immensely, the Microsoft would surely have to deduce the price of it.

I'm not sure if the price is going to drop any time soon, but I do have a bit of information that may be relevant to your interests.

The 360 is getting a bit of a makeover come the end of April, with a new black casing and a 120GB HDD. This model is expected to be sold for $479 USD, starting out.

No word on if the price is going to drop, in an official sense, but the older models could very well go down in price come summer.
