In Rambo 3 Rambo went to Afghanistan & if I remember correctly he was fighting with the Taliban to bring down the nasty Russkies.

Now the Taliban are enemy number 1. Would Rambo annihalate his former allies?

BTW - Rambo 2 was the best one. Total carnage & so UN-PC!!

Even in real life, the TALIBAN was supported by Military Intelligence from the US, and from CIA all the time that USSR was fighting the TALIBAN... It is inter resting that during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, the TALIBAN had M16s and NOT AK 47s(Kalashnikov)... I wounder why ?!? Muchta-Al Mahmood was leader of Mojahidin west of Kabul during the Sovjet invasion, and he was the head of the Policeforce in Kabul under the Taliban regime, so don't say that Taliban was'nt the same as the Mujahidin!!!

At the time Rambo III was made, the Mujahideen were America's allies, so Stallone writing a script with him helping them fight the Russians was only reflecting what was happening in the real world at the time.

However, then the Cold War ended and Osama Bin Laden and his cronies decided to set up terrorist training camps in Afghanistan with the Taliban's approval. Now things had shifted hugely and Rambo III looked like a mistake, but nobody could have predicted back in 1988 that a harsh regime like the Taliban would take over Afghanistan and help Al Qaeda to become America's #1 enemy. Everyone's an expert in hindsight.

I'm sure Rambo would have expert knowledge of Afghanistan having fought there and would be selected by the mysterious computer that selects people for missions as the number one choice for the job. The job being the hunting down and elimination of Osama "Big Boy" Bin Laden.

You are confused. Rambo fought with the freedom fighters. After the USSR pulled out the Taliban seized control. Rambo 3 came out in 1988. The Taliban formed in 2003-2004.

Actually Rambo was fighting with the Northern Alliance, who fought the Taliban later.

I saw, almost, the 1st Rambo movie but I had to walk out of the theater. The "Rambo" movie series is a total waste of time, money and celluloid.
