Well, when I was little my tradition was to get up early find the Easter eggs all over the house and yard, and then sneak into my neighbors yard before they woke up and steal their Easter eggs too, (they used to put 10 dollar bills in those things.) Then I would sit and eat candy all morning. Now that I am not a child anymore and don't have any kids of my own I don't have anything I do for Easter except decorate the house. :-)

The family gathers on Saturday night before Easter and we color the Easter eggs. Then we build the Easter baskets with all kinds of candy and toys.

I get up for an early run, shower up and go to Mass- if they have a sunrise service I'll go to that, otherwise the earliest Mass offered. Then I like to take my parents out to breakfast, usually to IHOP, eat some Easter candy (because I don't think you're ever too old for that stuff!), then usually dinner with the family that night- a big ham with lots of extras.

kids and i have buy cascarones to crack on our heads. it's a texas tradition, we fill empty egg shells with confetti, seal up with a bit of tissue to cover the hole. then we color the egg. after our bbq we each get a dozen or so and then crack the egg over each other's heads! and confetti comes flying everywhere! it's a blast.
to put a hole in the egg we take a reg. egg, and before making scrambled eggs we crack the egg on the pointy end. scoop out the cracked shell and then let the egg yolk and egg "drain" out into the skillet or bowl, whatever. then we put those eggs in the sink to gently wash and we save em for this purpose. yep it's time consuming but worth it!
