Sometimes. If your in love enough though then you can overcome this. Family is the hard thing to work around in a relationship if ones family does not like the other.

I've loved people in a lower class than me and in a higher class than me.

I think love ...true love...knows NO social class...

However, I will add that it sure makes the relationship a helluva lot easier if you share a common background.

I think if you find yourself in a situation like this and you're at a family function, you should try your best to understand and adapt to the ways and means of the family.

Example....say you're from a wealthy family and you married a mechanic who comes from a lower middle class family and it's Easter and you're going to his parents house to celebrate. DO NOT scoff if paper plates are used. Learn how to drink a beer straight from the can or bottle.

Or you're from a middle class family and you're going to her parents mansion in Dallas's tony Highland Park. Learn how to use your napkin and the appropriate fork.

Relationships succeed because participants willingly apply to that "give and take thing". It works.

Different classes can co-mingle. Just learn to understand and make an effort.

Nope. I'm probably going to make a lot more money than my fiance, but i don't care and neither does he. Love is supposed to overcome everything.

Yes. Very much. You may be in love but you have to live in the society which can be very cruel to the lovers.....
