Firstly your baby has the "perfect" weight for his age! Its something like having the ideal body at that age! Its like he is already figure conscious.
On a serious note, see the chart from the link I have pasted. http://www.indiachildren.com/htwtc.htm. This is especially for Indian babies.
So dont worry, he will grow on to be a healthy child.
However, when my daughter was 3 months, we started her on Formula milk, while she was still on breast feeding. With added nutrition and stuff, she did put on weight and this plumpness helped her "not look lean" at 3 years old. Well you know how 3 yrs old are, they NEVER eat!!!!
But remember you have to 400% carefull, clean and meticulous when you start the baby on Formula.
Hope this helps..

in inches thats 24 inches tall and in lbs its 12. As long as your baby is double its birth weight by 3 months you are ok. Most babies don't get "plumpy" until about 6 months.

I have had two children, when my second son was a baby he did not hold weight on. I know from experience that you should have your baby checked by a doctor or child health nurse. You may even should consider making an appointment with a child nutritionist. It is very important that you find out the reason behind your son not keeping the weight on. He may be completely healthy but you should have him checked in case.

Your baby could have heavy bones.
However, its fine if he isn't plumpy but make sure he is breast feeded only at this age.

My kids never were plumpy. They were all tall and thin. Almost anything is normal with babies. :)

Somtimes, they wont look quite "plumyp" yet, make sure you feed them plenty, and if you truely worry, take him to a Doctor.
