I am a teacher and I have to tell you, I get this answer often. You should not be scolded for incorrect answers! The teacher guide books, if you have noticed, are huge. This is because there is SO much more in there than "answers". More often than none, the guide offers us suggested questions, activities, ect. Teachers are taught to ask you a variety of types of questions to keep your cognitive juices flowing. In math for example, you can imagine how long it would take for a teacher to complete each problem. I can tell you from experience that I spend an enormous amount of my own, non-paid time planning and preparing for classes. That precious time is better spent making up fun activities and assignments that my students will love. If I wasted all that time working out problems my students would suffer. Plus, as a professional, we do not want to give incorrect answers! You deserve a proper education and well, we all make mistakes. I know in the eyes of a student all teachers are "all-knowing", but we aren't.
I hope that I have given you some insight into the crazy world of teaching.
We all learn from our mistakes and don't fret when you get incorrect answers.
Have an awesome day!
:)

teachers should never scold a student for not understanding an answer
that is why there is a need for teachers in the first place
if it was possible to learn that information just through the reading of the material than a teacher's job would be obsolete
but it's not....teachers need to remember that when a child is having difficulties
BUT
if a teacher had just explained a concept or had just given an answer but little Susie Sunshine was busy making googlie eyes at little Stanley Studmuffin and then Susie asks a question that was JUST answered then it can be expected that maybe, just maybe the teacher may get a little annoyed

Teachers need answer books for the same reason I keep repair manuals for my Harley-Davidson; a person cannot possibly remember every detail of every fact, so references are needed (would you trust a doctor or a lawyer if they didn't have libraries full of references to check and double-check facts. Kids are onlt expected to remember very small increments. When those facts are remembered, the teachers move on to slightly more challenging material. That's why a six year old in the first grade isn't handed out trigonometry or calculus textbooks; they start with "1 + 1 = 2"

Time is the teacher's greatest nemesis. In class time and in their after class marking and preparation. It is not reassurance. They have already checked to see if there was no misprint in the textbooks for your benefit - if they are worth their salt !
I don't believe that students should be scolded for giving a wrong answer. At least they have applied themselves. But be careful about scolding your teacher who is often working under heavy time restraints.

There are a couple of reasons. The biggest one is that the "answer books" (we call them "teacher guides") contain pertinent information to help the lesson along that the student copies don't. They have questions to ask, activities to try, etc. The other reason is that we don't always KNOW the answers, but we know how to find them. That's a far more important skill in the real world than memorizing facts.

Teachers use answer books so that they can make keys to grade papers faster. I am a teacher and I do not scold students for getting wrong answers. It is my job to help them discover where they made the mistakes so they understand it well enough to achieve the correct answers.

The answer book is a tool the teacher refers to when she/he is correcting papers and tests. Some teachers make their own "answer key."

because teachers are only human and they can't remember every single fact in everything they teach and they only want to make sure you get everything as right as you can.
