Just recently the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) said that they recomend a baby gets a bath once a day. The nurses at my hospital told me that such a young baby really doesn't need one that often.

I didn't bath my daughter everyday at that young. Her skin dryed out and she wasn't that dirty anyway. Just make sure you wash his face and neck everyday he doesn't get a bath (and even some days when he does!!)

However, it is good to do a bath everyday because then the baby falls into a routine. Many people like to feed their baby, give them a bath, read them a book and put them to bed! It is a good routine. If you want to bath your son everyday just watch out for cradle cap. Either use a specialized brush (it kinda looks like a toothbrush) to come off the dead skin everytime or only wash his hair every other day.

You can give him a bath every day if you want to. But one thing you don't want to do if you decide to do a daily bath is wash his hair every day. This will dry out his scalp and give him crattle cap. I have been giving my son his bath on Wed. and Sundays and the occasional bath inbetween if he got really dirty. But at three months, babies don't tend to get "dirty" and need to have a bath every day. As for drying out his skin, there are many, many lotions available for you to use. If you want an all natural lotion, just google baby all natural lotion and you will find many. A good tiip that I got at my baby shower was to warm the towel in the dryer for a few minutes as this helps fight off the chill. Congrats on the new baby boy!

The first opinion should be the baby's doctor's. But if you want mine, he should be bathed early morning every day, irrespective of the season. But seriously maintain the temperature of the water which should be tepid and maintain a fixed time for bath. Oil him before bath and apply soap, shampoo once a week. Immediately after taking him out of water, towel should be ready to wrap him, so that he does not catch cold. Hope my advice servs the purpose.

At that age they really don't get too dirty. They can find baths a relaxing time, so really it's up to you. At 3 months I started every other day baths unless the kids were particularly uptight, then the would have one (both mine like being bathed).

I gave my 3 month old a bath everyday. It was part of his bedtime routine and it relaxed him. I bathed him with Dove for sensitive skin which is best for babies- the doctor told me this. he is now 1 and I still bathe him with Dove. His skin is soft and smooth. Anyways followed by some nighttime lotion and I brushed his hair every night. Please don't listen to people who say a baby does not need a bath every day! Bathe your baby!!! A newborn does not need a bath everyday of course but your baby is old enough for one every day.

you should give your baby a bath everynight some of the doctors i have asked said that you can skip a day but when u have a newborn baby you want him/she to smell so good i did so when people hold them they will not go back behind ur back and say that your baby had a bad smell to them and another thing is why you should give your baby a bath is when him/she is drinking from the bottle some of that milk gets underneath there neck and it does have a bad smell to it if it is not clean hope this will help you out

U should bath him every alternate day, & the other day just clean him with a soft cotton towel, i.e. 1 day shower & the next day clean with towel. Remember the water should not be too hot or cold, very medium, also the towel U use for him should be seperate & needs to be washed every alternate day. Babies are very soft, so needs special & extra care & handling.

as often as needed , while you dont have to bath everyday at that age i will recommend that you sponge bath every day , the folds of skin under his neck, milk can get in there and cause a nasty rash, and the diaper area to help prevent rashes
